Updating lenovo A6000 with Kraft-A6000_S058_151030_TO_Kraft-A6000-S059_160111 - 292 MB

You might have received update notification for Kraft-A6000_S058_151030_TO_Kraft-A6000-S059_160111 - 292 MB and even have tried to update but failed. To update your phone follow below steps -

1. Download .ota file specific to your country like India.ota for India.


For those who are not able to get India as the default carrier flash this also

 India2default.ota 

         
             OTA file for all countries is in the link given. Download Link(Dropbox)


2. Put this file in your sdcard and switch off your phone.
3. Boot in recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up and Power Button at the same time.
    Release all buttons when the Lenovo A6000 screen flickers and in a few seconds the                    Recovery screen will  appear.
4. Find the .ota file and flash it.
5. Switch on your phone when done.
6. Dial the following in dialer ####6020# and it will show the carrier information. It should show your country name.
                                   
6. Download the Update from the System Updates in settings.
                                   
 
7. When download is complete press Ok and leave. It will get updated.

     After update you can check it in Device Information.

    it says that data will be erased if i change careers does all the data gets erased please response and share your experience...

      Before flashing .OTA file, when i dialed ####6020# to see carrier info , only default was there. Then I flashed , I got India there.
      I never came across such warning.

      I may be able to help if you tell exactly what you did.

      after flashing india.ota.zip i dialed ####6020# then i saw two options default and india i choosed india and clicked configure then i got a pop up saying all the data will be erased including multi sim data what should i do and what happens after i click yes will all the data be erased. Please reply what happened with yours did all your data get erased. Please reply soon..

      just choose india and close it. Don't press configure. Just go and download the update.

    ok i have flashed india.ota.zip

    and trying to configure carrier

    selected india and press being configure

    en error is showing that

    "Thereis not carrier selected, pleaseselect one or more"

    whereas i have already selected india

    what to do ?

      No need to press Configure Carrier. India has been set. Just download the Update and and proceed.

      It does not work, There is a Default and in your case india. When I select India and exit, when I reopen the carrier is set to default pls help.

      When I try to flash S059_160111 it gives me the same error saying i have not changed carriers. I followed exactly as you stated.

      Pls help, I flashed india.otg. It booted into android, I dialed ####6020#, chose india and quit. (BTW Unlike you i have default and India) anyways, i chose India and backed out and downloaded the firmware and let it flash it. It still failed saying that I have not changed carriers.

      I had only India there. You should try selecting india and clicking 'begin configure'.

      I tried that and I pressed OK. However, When it went through the configuration and restarted, I only got Default and india.ota.zip was gone from my sd card. I have re-tried the process many times and yet no success. If I don't receive more help, I'm thinking of flashing kitkat Original firmware via Lenovo downloader. Downloading the update and then extracting System.zip and flash. If that doesn't work i'll flash india.ota.zip first then re-trying it. Else I have lost all hope for Lenovo as they consistently have an issue with customer support (Only the mobile and tablet Section rest of the customer support is good).

      I was lucky I guess, that i was able to update.I shared my experience thinking that it might be helpful for others.
      Even while upgrading from Kitkat to Lollipop, i did the same i.e. flashing .ota and then the update.
      You should go to customer care and get it updated by them.

    i have downloaded the whole update 5 times but due to failure now i have done that India carrier configure , but what if this time also the update will not take place

      Give it a shot.
      By the way what was the error last five times ?
      If error was related to carrier, it will be solved if you follow above mentioned steps.

    Hi bro,

    I've been trying to upgrade for a device that was bought from the UAE, followed your steps but it aborts installation with the following error message:Your phone has not switched carriers and cannot be upgraded.

    Any advice?

      When i tried updating I got the same error. After that i followed the steps mentioned above.
      Please dial ####6020# and check whether its showing UAE or not.
      Have You flashed UnitedArabEmirates.ota.zip ??

    I have downloaded the update and and install the update but while installing the update there is a message pop up i.e. "Your phone has not switched carriers and cannot be upgraded." E:Error in /data/data/com.lenovo.ota etc

      No, root access is not required. Even i got the error message that you got. Follow the above steps, you might be able to update your phone. best of luck

      After flashing .ota i am getting two option india and default. i chose india and close but again i dialed ####6020# to check, where i found it has been set default again and if i click on configure there is a message of deleting data which i don't want. Please help.

      No Lokesh, still not working. Have flashed india2default.ota but still when i dialed ####6020# to check, it is showing default and India again. By pressing India and came out and then dialled again to check if it has switched carrier, i found that it remains the same as default. Please help.

      Rakesh, flash the zip file itself.Did You try flashing india2default as well ?

    I have installed India2Default.ota but after reboot only Default is reflecting in Carrier Config. Also after downloading A6000_S058_151030_TO_Kraft-A6000-S059_160111 i am not able to find this file in any folder so that i can install India.otr.Pls help or upload A6000_S058_151030_TO_Kraft-A6000-S059_160111 in drop box or google drive.

    lokesh kumar i have tried two times as you mention above, but ultimately Failed to update..
    Error details..
    Stock recovery says, "Your phone does not switch carrier, cannot upgrade"
    E: Error in /data/data/com.Lenovo.its/ap_its packages/(long hash numbers)-Lenovo ota.zip
    Status(101)
    Installation aborted
    Have any solution?

    I was also faced same problem. I have simply dail ####6020# and select india and try to update from system update. It was successfully downloaded and installed on my A6000. Thank you Bro
